La Verna Hospital sponsors soccer kit to SAPS team

The team is taking part in the ‘Work and Play’ inter-departmental games

Lenmed La Verna Private Hospital has sponsored soccer kit and backpacks to the local police team.

The kit was handed over by hospital manager Avishkaar Rampearie to the team on Friday (March 8) at the Acaciavale sports field, where the inter-departmental games were being held.

Receiving the donation was acting station commander Colonel Zuma. Adding to the kind gesture, the La Verna team also provided drinks to all the teams that were participating on the day.

The SAPS soccer team is taking part in the ‘Work and Play’ inter-departmental games.

The ‘Work and Play’ initiative is aimed at promoting a healthy working environment and also encouraging employees from various departments to lead a healthy lifestyle.

The teams were grouped into four divisions and the winner from each group qualified for the semi-finals.

The winners of the groups were as follows: Department of Education, Department of Health, Transnet and Department of Social Development.
