Green slime coats the tarmac

A persistent sewer leak in Main Road, that has been reported countless times to uThukela, has infuriated business owners in the street.

Dirty sewer water is flowing down the entire street, filling up potholes and creating puddles. The tarmac is caked with a green slimy substance, making the road slippery and dangerous.

Businesses located in Main Road say they are fed up with uThukela because this sewer problem has been ongoing for a long time and no permanent solution has been found.

“We are so tired of reporting this! One minute it’s leaking and the next it’s not. They come and ‘fix’ the problem, which makes it stop for a day or two and then the leak continues again. Our businesses are suffering tremendously and they can’t seem to find a solution,” fumed a business owner.

Some of the puddles are in front of business entrances, which makes it difficult for customers to get in, not forgetting the horrible smell that makes it even worse.
