A severe hail storm hit Estcourt yesterday (February 5), leaving some houses in Wembezi without roofs.
The heavy downpour also left roads flooded and vehicles were forced to use alternative routes, as roads in Wembezi were damaged and undriveable.

According to the Office of the Mayor, close to 20 families were affected by the storm.
The municipality’s Disaster Management Unit was on the ground to assess the damage.
The Wembezi community was also left without electricity, as some power lines and poles fell down.
