Leaping, splashing and circling at Saturday’s parkrun

Children under 11-years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times and only one dog is permitted per handler.

Whether is meant running around, leaping over or sploshing right through, parkrun enthusiasts were unfazed by the puddles of mud left behind by Friday night’s thunderstorm.

The weekly event hosted at Rooi Point Farm was well attended on Saturday, January 13, by Newcastle residents committed to health, wellbeing and physical fitness.

Parkrun organiser, Gwyneth Root, once again reminds residents that entrance to parkrun is completely free and urges one and all to join. “Come and have some jolly good fun, meet new people and make new friends,” said Root.

Parkrun takes place every Saturday at 8am at Rooi Point Farm (entrance across from Snips). Entrance is free. To log your times, register on the parkrun website and remember to carry your unique barcode to the event.

Strictly no littering is allowed.
