Ladysmith floods after heavy rain

K9 Search and Rescue officers are currently trying to locate 7 people who were allegedly swept away

Update: It’s alledged that 11 people were washed away in last night’s flash floods however only 5 bodies were recovered by the river Shepstone Bridge which is known as the Bellspruit area.

Parts of Ladysmith, including Lyell Street and King Street, are currently under water due to the heavy rainfall last night (December 24).

The Shepstone Bridge roadway has been completely washed away and it is alleged that seven people, including two children, were swept away by the raging waters.

K9 Search and Rescue were out this morning to find the missing people, but there has been no success thus far.
