Will water be restored today?

uThukela say they are confident that the community will have water soon

Residents are furious at having to go three weeks without water in certain areas.

Community members visited the KwaMthandi area today (December 15), where a burst water pipe is currently being worked on by an uThukela service provider.

This is the main pipeline that feeds the area with water.

The service provider hopes they can conclude the task today and restore water to the affected areas. The pipe is currently being drained and thereafter a weld will be done to fix the leak; a job that uThukela does not anticipate will take very long.

Time will tell if precious water flows from taps before nightfall.
