Community offers spares to fix broken pipes

When will uThukela restore water?

Ladysmith residents took to the streets yesterday morning (December 13), gathering in front of the uThukela offices in Lyell Street to voice their grievances over the prolonged water shortages in various areas of town.

The protesters were furious and demanded answers from uThukela. “We cannot have our basic human rights violated,” fumed one protester.

It was reported that after the march ended, the community offered to provide spares free of charge to fix the pipe at the Ezakheni Water Treatment Plant.
