Update on repairs to burst water pipes

Many areas have reported 'dry taps' or low water pressure

According to uThukela communications officer Jabulani Mkhonza, they are currently (December 11) in the process of carrying out repairs in several sections of Alfred Duma Local Municipality.

Burst pipes have resulted in some areas not having any water.

Pipe repairs are in progress in the Mnthandi area of Ezakheni and in Van Riebeeck Park.

In Ruby Gailey Drive, collapsed main line work is in progress.

Mechanical repairs have been carried out at the Olifantskop purification plant and it is back on line.

“If weather permits, water will be restored soon,” said Mkhonza.
