Police march to raise awareness about gender-based violence

This year's '16 Days of Activism' campaign runs from November 25 to December 10

Police officers from different stations falling under the uThukela District held a march today (November 27) to show support for the fight against gender-based violence (GBV).

This was part of the ’16 Days of Activism’ campaign that targets the abuse of women and children.

The march started at the Caltex garage in Murchison Street, went all the way  through the Ladysmith CBD and ended at Settlers Park.

SAPS officials spread their message via placards bearing various hard-hitting slogans.

The message was to encourage those affected by GBV to report their situation so that the perpetrators can be brought to book.
