Ichthus Christian School athletes perform well at PMB meeting

Ichthus is proud of all their athletes, but give all the honour and glory to God.

Ichthus athletes had a very exciting and blessed SACSSA athletics meeting in Pietermaritzburg.
Congratulations to the 18 athletes who participated and performed so well. Thank you to the staff who acted as officials!
Thanks to the teachers and Coach Xolani Mbatha, who assisted with coaching the athletes during the season.
The results are as follows.
U/8: Ncebazakhe Phakathi – fourth in turbo javelin, fifth in 600m); Ziphelele Ndebele – 16th in 60m.
U/9: Esihle Mbhele – first in 80m, second in 60m, seventh in 600m, third in relay; Luthando Komo – third in 60m, seventh in 80m, seventh in 600m, third in relay U/10; Anderson Buthelezi – second in 100m, seventh in 80m; Brennan Long – third in high jump, sixth in long jump; Esihle Mazibuko – sixth in shot put; Lethokuhle Sithole – sixth in high jump; Azande-Izibusiso Dlamini – was in the 80m finals but did not run due to being ill.
U/11: Daniella Mukoka – third in shot put, fifth in high jump; Izibusiso Phakathi – fifth in turbo javelin.
U/12: Caitlyn Rotol – seventh in javelin; Nizenande Ngubo – fourth in discus; Lonaidy Haarhoff – fourth in 1200m; Sibanisethu Mazibuko – 11th in discus.
U/13: Khwezi Kheswa – fourth in long jump, fourth in high jump; Izibongo Phakathi – third in javelin; Nkazimulo Selepe – ninth in shot put.
Ichthus Christian School further commends its three athletes who, due to their exceptional scores on the Athletics ASA Score Table, achieved SACSSA Colours at the SACSSA National Championships held on September 29 and 30 at Msunduzi Stadium in Pietermaritzburg. The event played host to more than 1000 athletes from as far afield as Western Province, Zimbabwe and Namibia, competing over two days.
Congratulations to Khwezi Kheswa with a score of 780 points for boys’ U/13 high jump (height of 1.60m); Ncebazakhe Phakathi for the U/8 girls’ 600m event, scoring 816 points; and Luthando Khomo for the U/9 girls’ 600m event, with a score of 764 points.

Ncebezakhe Phakathi scored 860 points for U/8 girls’ 600m.
Luthando Khomo scored 764 points for the U/9 girls 600m event.
