The bakkie he was travelling was said to be 'riddled' with bullets

Dundee police are following up leads so they can arrest those responsible for shooting and killing a motorist and wounding his passenger on the Dundee /Nquthu road on Saturday afternoon.
Police say the 32-year-old man was driving from Nqutu to Dundee in his Toyota bakkie when his vehicle came under fire from a high-calibre firearm. The gunman was travelling in a vehicle that drew level with the victim.
It is not yet clear what led to the shooting.
The victim has not yet been identified.
Police make arrest for alleged copper theft
A man was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning after he was found transporting around 500 kg of suspected stolen copper. The arrest was made at around 15:00 in Dundee by members of the Glencoe Dog Unit. Police said the copper had been placed under a mattress in a bakkie driven by the suspect. The suspect is to appear in court this week.
Car thieves apprehended
Two men were arrested in Pomeroy on Friday, September 22, after police gave chase upon receiving information that the vehicle had been hijacked in Dundee in July.
Following a brief chase, the men, aged 25 and 52, were apprehended and are to appear in the Msinga Magistrate’s Court this week.
High school learners face assault charges
Two 18-year-olds have been arrested following the assault of a fellow learner at Dundee High School on September 12. Both scholars are facing charges of grievous bodily harm.
“The police investigation is currently continuing,” said SAPS spokesperson Constable Siyabonga Nkwanyana.
