MOTH boot sale fosters a sense of community

Young and old alike came to sell their wares, which ranged from second hand clothes and toys to plants, books, and house ware.

It was a busy day of sales and bargains at the MOTH car boot sale last week Saturday, September 3.

The boot sale fostered a sense of community, with some doing selling goods for the benefit of others.

“Everything from the sale goes to a crèche in Siyahlala,” Karen Seager explained. “I want to help because they have municipal bills to pay while not making much money because most parents of children in the crèche can barely afford the childcare that the crèche provides.”

Despite the wind’s disruptive appearance, the sale carried on successful as the warm weather made it an ideal day for families who wanted to be out in the sun while also shopping.
