Amajuba District police promise gangster activity ‘will soon be a thing of the past’

‘Isibaya Samadoda’ is an annual event, hosted by the KZN Department of Community Safety and Liaison, and various stakeholders.

Police in the district have promised to work hard to put an end to gangster activity that has plagued especially Osizweni.

Speaking to about 300 men who gathered in the Osizweni Community Hall last month for an ‘Isibaya Samadoda’ event, SAPS Amajuba District Commissioner Major General F.B. Alexander, measures were in place to ensure the safety of the community.

He revealed that ‘there has been a dramatic decrease in gangsterism with the high density operations, that come into effect at sunset, focusing on liquor act compliance and suspect raiding in identified hotspots.

‘Isibaya Samadoda’ is an annual event, hosted by the KZN Department of Community Safety and Liaison, and various stakeholders.

This year the focus was on the causes of gender-based violence and femicide, the role of traditional leaders in crime prevention and safety and the role men play in raising their sons.

Major General Alexander concluded by thanking all those who have assisted and are continuing assist the police in the fight against crime.
