Sarel Cilliers hosts stunning Veni Vidi Vedo art display

Local artist Khanya Mbatha displayed his larger-than-life canvases and was on hand to answer questions and give the students valuable advice.

Sarel Cilliers held the annual art exhibition called ‘Veni Vidi Vedo’ (I came, I saw, I see), showcasing the work of the Grade 8 and Grade 9 Creative Arts learners.
There were also various art categories open to the rest of the school, and the standard and quality of the work submitted was outstanding. Judging took place prior to the exhibition, and certificates and prizes were handed out in assembly.
The exhibition was a huge success, with numerous art performances to entertain the guests. This included a live painting performance from Tshepang Mokoena (who amazed the crowd with his black and white canvas), a parade of re-cycled fashion wear, an impromptu live piano performance, as well as all the superb artwork on display. The tournament comprised of singles matches for the top female and male player from each school, a doubles match and mixed doubles.
