The Vryheid K9 Search & Rescue Unit attended the scene of a drowning in the Ngilandi area of Mondlo on Monday. A man had drowned in a river. One of the rescue divers found the deceased under a bridge approximately 1.9 metres below the surface. The identity of the deceased is unknown at this stage and police have opened an inquest docket into the incident.
