Uminathi aims high at pageant

Her motto is 'Don't let anyone ever dull your sparkle'

Young local model Uminathi Luvuyo (11) began her journey at the Miss Sakha Isizwe Ngomuntu Wesifazane (SINW) pageant on a high note.

So far, she has won eight titles in the two preliminary rounds – the ‘Semi Finals High Tea’ and the ‘Semi Finalist Gala Dinner’ – held recently in Pinetown,

The titles she won in the ‘Semi Finals High Tea’ round included ‘Best Spokesperson’, ‘Best Confidence’, ‘Miss Public Choice’ and ‘Best Advertisement’.

She continued to do well at the ‘Semi Finalist Gala Dinner’, where she won ‘Best Interview’, ‘Miss SINW’ and second place in the ‘Public Choice Category’ for the month of June.

Uminathi is now headed to the finals, which will be held in December.

She thanks her family and fans for supporting her throughout this journey. “I am looking forward to the finals. I can assure my supporters that I will make them proud and come back with the crown,” said a confident Uminathi.  She also thanks Dr N Madlala for organising such a competition that focuses on uplifting young girls and giving them a platform to showcase and develop their talent.
