Roads closed as trucks are set alight on N3 and N11

Six trucks caught alight in the early hours of this morning (July 9) on the N3.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.

The road remains closed, with ‘recovery’ operations in progress.

Motorists are advised to delay their journeys in this area.

The Tugela Plaza and Tugela East Plaza have been closed, as well as the northbound carriageway at the Frere interchange.

Also, the N11 at Ingogo is closed.

RTI, emergency services, towing services and the Fire Department responded to the scene.
