Post office clean-up gets underway
Litter is being bagged and the areas outside are being given a high-pressure hosing
The Estcourt Post Office has become an eyesore, with litter and human waste strewn everywhere.
This is as a result of homeless people seeking shelter at the post office at night.
Despite calls on the post office national management to repair the fence, which provides easy access to the premises, there has been no attempt to do so, with management saying that lack of funds made it impossible to deal with.
This morning (June 14), the local municipality, Estcourt police, the Al-Imdaad Foundation, community members and some business owners have taken it upon themselves to clean up the post office.
