Stalls worth R1.8 million to be built for informal traders

The project will take three to four months to finish

Alfred Duma Local Municipality Deputy Mayor Sizwe Simelane, together with Speaker Bhekinkosi Sithole, introduced a contractor to build informal trader stalls in Uitvaal yesterday (May 22).

The project is worth R1.8 million and is set to benefit Ward 35 and 36. These communities will be using the local sub-contractor, which will provide job opportunities to locals. 

It is envisaged that both men and women will be hired, as the contractor has promised to extend its employment number to benefit these communities.

According to the contractor, the project will take three to four months to complete all 35 stalls.
