CPF meeting held in Leonardsville

All are invited to the next meeting

The community of Leonardsville recently held a Community Policing Forum (CPF) meeting at Little Butterflies Crèche (72 Poona Road).

Over 30 people attended the meeting, including uThukela District CPF chairperson Mr Mazibuko and Ward 10 Councillor Mngadi.

The reason for the meeting was to discuss ways in which the community can combat crime and address service delivery issues.

Cllr Mngadi suggested that the community should draft a petition to the police to bring the K9 Unit back to town for increased tactical support to the SAPS.

Community members pointed out hot-spot crime locations such as abandoned houses and vacant plots.

The Leonardsville Patrol group informed the attendees that zero crimes had been reported at night, during the previous week, and that criminals seem to be operating between 06:00 and 08:00.
