According to the municipality, Electrical Engineering Services teams have been on the ground since the massive power outage occurred, working day and night to restore electricity to all the affected areas.

Most of the affected areas now have power again.

The Electricity Department encountered faulty cables in some areas, which caused the process to be longer. Nevertheless, the restoration of power was faster than expected.

“Alfred Duma Local Municipality wishes to extend our gratitude to all residents, schools and business traders for their patience during this week of electricity outage in their areas. We also wish to extend our gratitude to the technical team that worked throughout to ensure restoration of power to our residents,” said Alfred Duma Mayor Zama Sibisi.
