No ‘beacon’ of hope as potholes multiply

"The road is in a shocking state" say residents in the area

Residents living in and around Beacon Road are at their wits’ end about the condition of the road.

Potholes abound and although there are indications that previous work was done by the municipality to repair damage, residents say that ‘everything is falling apart’. “Multiple potholes are forming around one another like a spreading plague,” fumed one unhappy resident.

The road is bumpy and uneven, and vehicles have to literally dodge each other to avoid an accident as they attempt to miss the potholes. Pedestrians run the risk of being hit as a result.

“This is a residential area and to have a road that is in such poor condition is a very real threat to our children when they walk to the nearby shops,” said another concerned resident.
