Handing out water to those in need

Water supply is expected to be restored soon in the affected areas

Ward 13 committee member Rakhee ‘Tilly’ Meyer was recently seen helping various non-profit organisations (NPOs) as they distributed water in Aloe Park, Hillside, Rose Park, Acaciavale, Smartiesville and Chisty Place.

These areas face ongoing water issues and have been battling with ‘dry taps’ since Saturday. Water supply has been on-and-off in some of these areas.

uThukela spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza commented that they encountered technical glitches at the Ezakheni Water Treatment Works last night (April 17).

“Our technical team is currently attending to the issue and it is anticipated that water supply will be restored later this evening (April 18),” said Mkhonza.

uThukela apologises for the inconvenience caused.
