Police end infamous rapist’s trail of terror
He was wanted for more than 10 cases of rape
House robberies and rape have escalated in and around Vryheid, say police. To clamp down on these serious crimes, Vryheid SAPS recently conducted a ‘sting’ operation that led to the arrest of a man who has been terrorizing the town for months. Unlicensed firearms and stolen goods were recovered during the arrest. The suspect even has a nickname among those who fear his ‘wicked ways’. He was wanted for more than 10 cases of rape, as well as over seven cases of housebreaking. His most recent heinous act was on April 4 in the Sasko area, where he and another suspect robbed a house and raped a female at gunpoint. The infamous rapist is now behind bars where he belongs and the community is hoping for a successful conviction to put this ‘monster’ away for a long time.
