Devotees observe auspicious festival
Celebrations began early in the morning and continued in the evening
Iskcon Estcourt hosted the sacred Gaura Purnima Festival on March 7. The celebration is observed in commemoration of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhus’ appearance anniversary.
Lord Chaitanya is the Supreme Lord who appeared in India 500 years ago to propagate the chanting of God’s holy name.
Devotees gathered at the temple at 05:00 for the morning arati ceremony. At noon, the devotees took to the streets in honour of His Holiness Kadamba Kanana Swami, chanting and reverberating the name of God in melodious tunes. Sadly, he passed away on Thursday, March 9.

Thereafter, an evening programme commenced, providing spiritual upliftment to all who attended. A huge feast was then served.
