Perfect hole-in-one fluke flows at perfect golf day

Novelty prizes went to: ladies' longest drive - N van Heysteen; men's - Pierre Booysen; nearest the pins: no. 4 - C Mkhwanazi; no. 8 - L Bezuidenhout; no. 12 - B Jacobs; and no. 16 - K Roets.

Another successful Flotec Golf Day was played on Saturday, with 112 players taking to the course in superb weather conditions.
Considering the huge damage done to the course, following the torrential rains, club captain Joff Davies, green-keeper Joe Khumalo, staff and volunteers did an admirable job in preparing the course for one of the club’s biggest days of the year.
And for Bennie Jacobs, the day was made even more perfect when he chalked up his first-ever perfect fluke on number 12. A thrilled Bennie said this was his first hole-in-one and one to remember, as it was such a big day. Thanks to Bennie for his contribution to the club in lieu of the traditional round of drinks one is expected to buy when scoring a hole-in-one!
Dundee Country Club’s committee and members thank Kallie and Lisa Roets, and their Flotek team, for delivering yet another bumper golf day.
A big thank you goes to all the sponsors for their sponsorship and all staff members for their long hours working to make this tournament a great success. The winner of the day was Stiaan Aliquo on 40 points on a count-out from Jurie Botes, Mason Meyer and Bennie Jacobs. Novelty prizes went to: ladies’ longest drive – N van Heysteen; men’s – Pierre Booysen; nearest the pins: no. 4 – C Mkhwanazi; no. 8 – L Bezuidenhout; no. 12 – B Jacobs; and no. 16 – K Roets.
In the evening, well-known Afrikaans singer Juan Boucher performed in front of a bumper crowd, who are all starved of live entertainment in Dundee. Kallie Roets even joined in on stage and wowed the crowd with his voice.
Upcoming events: Dundee Open on March 19 (over 36 holes), sponsored by PR Mining and Jeff’s Service Station.
