Clean sweep for Sarel Cilliers against Greytown

Orange Grove were in full support of the sports teams.

The sun finally came out over the weekend and Sarel Cilliers’ sports teams enjoyed a wonderful day as they hosted Greytown High School.
The U/14 netball team triumphed 7-5, the U/15 netball team won 6-5, the U/16 netball team triumphed 14-6, the second team triumphed 14-5, and the first team triumphed resoundingly 35-15.
The U/16 girls’ hockey team performed admirably, drawing a very evenly matched game 0-0, while the girls’ first hockey team played a competitive game to win 1-0. The rugby boys also did well, with many of the players keen to get onto the field after not being able to play the previous weekend.
Rugby scores: U/14s won 17-5, U/15s won 30-0, U/16s won 42-5, the second team won 26-5, and the first team notched up a very convincing 39-17 win. Orange Grove were in full support of the sports teams, handing out sample products to the players in front of the Orange Grove GIG Bus. Sarel Cilliers is extremely grateful for their sponsorship and support.
The Sarel Cilliers’ first team hockey boys travelled to Bethlehem to play in the Voortrekker Bethlehem Hockey Festival. The boys were excited to play in such a big tournament and were tested to the extreme; winning two games, losing two games, and drawing one game.
Well done to the boys and their coach, Mr S Joubert.
The angling team set off early on Saturday to go and see if the fish were biting. The weather could not have been better and neither could the fishing experience be equalled.
For many of the juniors, it was their first outing with the angling team, and the seniors really contributed to the day by sharing their experience and helping the juniors to bag their first catches.
‘Angler of the Day’ was Arav Bhagwandeen, who caught the biggest fish weighing 1.145 kg and bagged a total of 10 fish on the day.
