Protesting residents blocked off a road in the Northern Drakensberg, about 15kms from Emmaus Hospital, this morning (February 28).

According to unofficial reports, the residents are demanding that local labour be employed to construct a road in the area.

It is also believed that water supply is among the concerns.

Okhahlamba Local Municipality mayor Vikizitha Richard Mlotshwa was on scene and addressed the protesting residents. SAPS and traffic officers are also on scene.
