New full-time municipal manager in the ‘hot seat’ and ready for positive change

Ntombela still has his 'hands on deck' in ensuring that Endumeni Municipality's debit and credit control are in order to recoup municipal funds.

The Endumeni council has officially appointed Sthembiso Ntombela in the position of acting municipal manager, following his ‘seconded’ appointment by council three months ago. “It is a relief to be permanently appointed as the municipal manager of Endumeni. I am thankful to the council for entrusting me with this position,” said Ntombela. This means he can see all the Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) projects through to their completion – in particular the electrification of RDP houses around town; the construction of Marikana Road in Sithembile; and the collection of municipal revenue, which goes hand-in-hand with rooting out the rampant theft of electricity.
“The municipality loses millions of rands due to the theft of electricity and illegal connections, which results in us paying more to Eskom,” explained Ntombela.
