Residents go days without water

uThukela apologises for the inconvenience caused

Residents in areas such as Aloe Park, Hillview, Rose Park, Ezakheni, Acaciavale, parts of Steadville, ‘Old’ Ladysmith and Tsakane have been facing water outages every day since last week.

According to uThukela, the reason for the interruptions is that six of their pumps at the Ezakheni Water Treatment Works are silted up after the recent floods.

A service provider has been appointed to start removing the silt from the sumps. From tomorrow (February 23) until Friday (February 24), the plant will be shut down in order for this work to be done.

A technical team will be repairing the main water pipe running through Ezakheni C3 Section.

Communities are urged to store water as a precaution.
