Local beauty competes in prestigious national pageant

Newcastle's Xoliso Mgwevu has advanced to the semi-finals of the Mrs Universe SA pageant.

After learning about the pageant on social media, Xoliso decided to push herself and try something new.

The pageant was looking for honourable, divorced or widowed women to compete, and the married mother of three fits the bill perfectly.

“The competition’s message isn’t just about beauty; it’s about championing a significant course that benefits others.”

Xoliso, a fitness enthusiast, is not only beautiful but also has a golden heart, donating food parcels and toiletries to shelters and organising a drive to collect school uniforms and stationary for needy children.

“Every human being deserves the right to basic human needs which we take for granted.”

She thanked the Newcastle community for their support and sponsorships  is looking forward to winning the crown and representing South Africa at the International Mrs Universe competition.
