Swimmers take to the water to fight polio

With 88 swimmers participating, and completing 1075 laps covering 2,5km, the annual Rotary Swimathon proved to be another successful fund raiser in their efforts to assist with the eradication of polio in the world.

The Dundee Rotarians hosted the event in perfect weather at Dundee High School Pool on Friday January 27.
“Thanks to Dundee High for the use of their sparkling pool and thanks to the DHS interactors for their assistance and a special thanks to the Dundee public for supporting this cause. We had great support from Ichthus Primary, DJS and DHS and swimmers from Jennyâs Swim School and the Aquasize ladies,” said the Rotary Club.
The most laps, 60, were swam by Kalia Boshoff and four others swam 60 laps.
R1682.00 was collected and will go to Rotary International for polio radication.
