A lady driver had a narrow escape after a crash that involved a police vehicle.
The collision took place today (January 17) near the Indoor Sports Complex.
The police van was transporting prisoners who had to appear in the Newcastle court. The case was postponed due to the crash.
An eyewitness explained that the collision happened at an intersection and the impact caused one of the vehicles to veer off the road into veld.

The lady driver said she was in a state of shock, but extremely thankful that she had escaped injury.
