New arts & tourism body looks at creative ideas

The launch enjoyed the support of Tourism Dundee committee member and Chez Nous B&B owner Elizabeth Durham.

A new body aimed at uniting artists, crafters and accommodation owners was launched in December.
Endumeni Arts, Culture & Tourism (ACT) kicked off by showcasing the work of crafters and artists outside Endumeni Municipality on Friday.
Vukani Mtshali of Endumeni ACT commented that, “This NPO seeks to unite, market and promote local people in the arts and crafts scene, and also involve all tourism-based businesses.
“We need to promote much-needed investment in our area, and we believe that social cohesion and community development may be realised through arts, culture and tourism.”
The launch enjoyed the support of Tourism Dundee committee member and Chez Nous B&B owner Elizabeth Durham.
She said, “At Chez Nous B&B, we believe that art, craft and tourism are totally linked together. We have great talent in our area.
“The forming of an arts centre here is a great project and will create fusion between all cultures through merging talents. There was a small turnout at this year’s event, with very few stalls on display. However, we hope that there will be a better response in the near future from the community.”
