Stinky sewer leak angers homeowner

The leak has been ongoing since October and nothing has been done

Residents are frustrated by a persistent sewer leak in Harrismith Road that started last year. Stinky water and raw effluent has been overflowing for the past few months.

The leak is in front of a resident’s property, with sewer water flowing into the yard and in turn causing extensive damage to the property. “Not to mention the endless cleaning that needs to be done,” fumed the homeowner.

The security guard at the property says he has been guarding the house since last year and the sewer has been leaking since October.

“My boss asked me to make a passageway for the water so that it doesn’t go into the yard. We have reported this to the relevant authorities, but nothing has been done about the problem,” said the concerned guard.
