A heavy storm hit areas in and around Ladysmith yesterday (January 4), causing extensive damage.
The storm tore through Peacetown at about 16:00, destroying houses in its path.
When homeowners got back from work, they were shocked to see their roofs completely blown off and the interior sodden by the falling rain.
It was a sad sight to see young children crying as their parents either stood in disbelief as they surveyed the destruction or went about the job of sweeping water out of their ruined homes.

Residents are advised to take precautions, as more heavy rainfall is expected again tonight.
