Sports day held by IFP Youth Brigade

Festive season fun was held for the youth in the form of sporting action

The IFP Youth Brigade hosted sporting events over the long weekend of December 16 to 18 at the Roosboom sports grounds, with various sporting codes for the youth to participate in.

The tournament was put together by IFP Youth Brigade chairperson Mr SM Msimang. Netball, chess (for people with disabilities), soccer and volleyball matches were played over the weekend.

There were prizes for the teams that excelled at the tournament. Community members came out in numbers to enjoy the games, as well as the performances by various local artists.

The aim was to keep the youth occupied over the busy long weekend, because it was said that many accidents happen during the December 16 holiday, especially due to the abuse of alcohol and drugs among the youth.
