Sounds of Amajuba harmonise their way to the top

The choir has been chosen to represent the Amajuba District at the Provincial competition, which will take place in Durban on February 25-26, 2023.

Congratulations to the Sounds of Amajuba Choir, led by choir conductor Senzeni Hlatswayo and manager Siyabonga Simelane, who competed in the KZN Department of Arts and Culture Music Competition in Ladysmith on December 3.

The choir took first place in the following three categories:
– Istibili division where they won R10 000
– Chamber Choir division – taking home the R10 000 prize money
– Ndima Phila won first place in the Bass solo division and claimed R5 000

The choir has been chosen to represent the Amajuba District at the Provincial competition, which will take place in Durban on February 25-26, 2023.

We’d like to thank Deputy Mayor Musa Thwala from the bottom of our hearts for funding the hiring of our choir’s uniform,” concluded Mr Hlatswayo.
