Church rekindles procession through the streets

After a two-year break due to Covid-19, the parishioners were glad to be out on the street, spreading the word

St Matthew’s Anglican Church hosted its ‘Christ the King Procession’ recently. Congregants marched through the streets in town, spreading the message of God’s love.

This year’s theme was ‘The Child in Our Midst’.

“We also carried the empty cross, which is a symbol of the resurrection. The difference this year was that we did not have motorbikes accompanying us in the street. It was a joyful time, since we could not host the procession for the past two years due to Covid-19,” said parish priest Father Madoda Khumalo.

After the service, the children were treated to gifts and goodies.
