Drive to provide Christmas / school gifts for orphans

Donations may be left at the Dundee Tourism office, adjacent to the public library, on weekdays between 09:00 and 15:00. All donations must be in by Wednesday, December 14.

Courier readers are invited to embody the true spirit of Christmas by supporting the Maria Ratschitz Children’s Home & Soup Kitchen Christmas Collection.
Marie Ratschitz is an historic mission near Wasbank, where abandoned children are cared for. There is also a Hospice for terminally ill patients who are unable to afford private treatment.
Dundee Tourism Committee members on Friday launched the project to assist both projects at the Mission.
You can support this effort by donating a Christmas gift for the children, aged between six and 17, or supporting the soup kitchen that feeds the orphaned children and patients at the Hospice.
What can you donate? Gift a child their card wish – cards for each child are available at the Dundee Tourism office.
Tins of foods, dried goods, used clothing and toys can also be donated.
The children will also be in need of school readiness boxes – you can assist by donating pencils, pens, pencil crayons, erasers, craft scissors, peel and stick labels for school books and notebooks.
