A nightmare of sewage and potholes

Motorists are forced to swerve all over the place in order to miss the holes

Furious residents and businessmen are complaining about the ‘shocking’ state of Main Road.

The street is pockmarked with gaping potholes and to add insult to injury, there is also a sewer leak that is further damaging the tarmac and making it difficult for motorists who use this route.

“It’s been five weeks now and nothing has been done about the situation. The road is badly damaged and we are losing business as a result,” said a frustrated businessman in the area.

With the inclement weather we are currently experiencing, the potholes soon fill up with both rainwater and stinky sewer water, making it virtually impossible for drivers to see them at night.

At the time of publishing, the municipality had not commented.
