Happy Guy Fawkes Day?

It's also known as 'Bonfire Night'

It falls on November 5 every year, but what is it all about? It started in England and later spread to many other countries around the world, including Canada, South Africa and Australia.
Guy Fawkes, also known as Guido Fawkes, was a member of a group of provincial English Catholics involved in the failed ‘Gunpowder Plot’ of 1605 when they attempted to blow up the House of Lords. Fawkes was caught, confessed and was hanged.
Guy Fawkes Day just happens to mark the day during the Second Boer War when an effigy of Paul Kruger, then president of the South African Republic, was burned in public for the first time.
So fire and rebellion seem to be a common theme for this day.
People often let off fireworks that are symbolic of the gunpowder that didn’t go off back in 1605.
Basically, whether you decide to commemorate this day is completely up to you. If you’re setting off fireworks, do so responsibly!
