7 die in head-on collision

15 people sustained injuries

Tragedy struck on Ntabamhlophe Road last night (October 29) when a taxi and car were involved in a head-on collision.

Following the impact of the crash, both vehicles caught alight.

 

Emergency workers rushed to the scene and, after an assessment, found that seven people had succumbed to their injuries and died on scene.

“15 patients had sustained injuries ranging from serious to critical. The patients were treated and stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment,” said Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service spokesperson Chantell Botha.

The cause of the fatal crash is being investigated.
