10 out of 10 for KZN ladies’ inter-club golf tournament

The local Dundee ladies also put in a good showing, but unfortunately were not among the prize winners.

The annual KZN Ladies’ Inter-Club competition was hosted at Dundee Country Club, which saw over 170 lady
golfers (representing clubs from around KZN) converge on Dundee from Thursday morning to Saturday evening.
Despite the wet and chilly weather, some good golf was played on all three days in three divisions, namely bronze, silver and gold.
Tania Lyon of Eshowe and Jane McKenzie of Ladysmith took the gold honours, with Jacqui Porrill and Aurette Boardman (both from Ladysmith) taking the silver division honours. The local Dundee ladies also put in a good showing, but unfortunately were not among the prize winners.
However, they won top prize when it came to the organisation of the big weekend. KZN Ladies’ Golf Union president Sue Rohwer and her vice-president, Nicci Taylor, were both very congratulatory of the huge effort put in by the local ladies.
The Country Club committee thanks all the members who took time out of their busy schedules and assisted where help was needed in making this year’s inter-club a great success. Many thank to Joe Khumalo and his staff for the excellent condition of the course; the barmen and cleaning staff for all their long hours; Tandy and Pearl in the Pro Shop for their hard work; Pieter Bester and Pinkie and their staff for the catering; and Dave Donaldson and the members who assisted with the safety of the golf bags, which were stored in the squash section over the weekend.
10 out of 10, for sure!
