Mayor donates gardening equipment

The community also raised its concerns that include shortage of water, bad road conditions and hazardous bridges

Alfred Duma Local Municipality Mayor Zama Sibisi donated more than 100 plows and pitchforks to farmers in Ward 24 Baldaskraal, Driefontein area, on Thursday (October 20).

This was part of the mayoral ‘One Home One Garden’ programme, which seeks to encourage residents to use the soil to fight poverty and also create job opportunities.

The poor quality of roads is also an ever-present challenge that threatens these people’s lives, especially children who travel to and from school on a daily basis.
