Theft of 21 head of cattle foiled

The farm has experienced numerous cases of cattle being slaughtered for meat over the past few months.

The theft of 21 head of cattle was foiled last Tuesday evening after a man on horseback was seen herding the cattle on the Glencoe / Wasbank road, near Uithoek Farm.
Surrounding farmers and members of the Glencoe Stock Theft & Endangered Species Unit managed to recover the cattle, but the horseback rider evaded arrest.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact the Glencoe Stock Theft Unit.
Stock theft suspects appear briefly in Dundee Magistrate’s Court
Two suspects, Siphiwe Ndaba (27) and Siswe Ndaba (30), appeared briefly in the Dundee Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of stock theft.
Security guards arrested the two on Gladstone Farm on July 29. The farm has experienced numerous cases of cattle being slaughtered for meat over the past few months.
Their bail application was postponed to October 25 for judgment.
