Visible policing gets the nod

Vehicles were inspected and some fines were issued

As Transport Month (October) continues, police have been out in force to conduct vehicle inspections.

On Sunday (October 16), members of the Estcourt Visible Policing Unit stationed themselves along the Loskop road.

A large number of passing vehicles and occupants were searched.

“The extra police visibly served as a deterrent and many commuters vocally appreciated the police presence. Fines were also issued for traffic violations,” said police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.

The Uthukela District Commissioner, Major General Jabulani Khumalo, commended the officers for their commitment and dedication in ensuring that crime is minimised at all costs.
