Games held for National Recreation Day

A variety of games were held on the day in order to be fit and healthy

Ilenge Football Association, in partnership with the Sport for Social Change Network, hosted a variety of games last Friday (October 7) in celebration of National Recreation Day.

These games are held nationally within all nine provinces.

During the launch back in 2014, the Cabinet declared that an annual Recreation Day be held on the first Friday of October.

The aim is to encourage people to take part in sport to help fight diseases and be healthy.

Speaking on behalf of Ilenge Football Association, Bongumusa Mkhize said they are humbled by the fact that they were the only organisation that was selected to host the games in the province. “We would like to thank Ilenge Primary School for taking part in the games and also thank the community for coming out in their numbers to attend,” he said.
