Five injured after car overturns

Five occupants from a VW Polo were lucky to escape serious injuries when their vehicle overturned on the N3 near the Tugela Bridge this morning (October 1) at about 11.30am.

The vehicle was travelling on the southbound lane when it is alleged that the rear left tyre burst.

The car veered out of control and overturned onto the northbound lane, landing on its roof.

The five occupants sustained minor injuries and were treated on scene.

An obstruction to the fast lane on the northbound lane was cleared just over an  hour later.
