Bell Spruit Bridge to be closed for water pipe repairs

The water supply will be turned off for 24 hours while repairs take place

uThukela District Municipality would like to inform the Ladysmith community that they will be repairing a burst pipe in Shepstone Road under the Bell Spruit Bridge tomorrow (September 14) and this is likely to cause water interruptions in certain areas.

Public Safety will be closing the road under Bell Spruit Bridge from 06:00 on Wednesday morning until uThukela have finished the repairs. The road will be impassable from just past Mkhamba Primary School to where the road intersects Hamilton Road.

It is important to motorists and those who travel to work using this road to make alternative arrangements.

The repairs will start in the morning.

Areas that are likely to be affected are: Danskraal Industrial Area, Limit Hill, Model Kloof, Area J Steadville, St Chad’s and Dunlop.

Water supply to all the above-mentioned areas will be turned off for 24 hours, so consumers are advised to store water in containers.
